Letter #28 To My Benefactor

Dear Benefactor,

A friend of Adriana’s is hiking the PCT in a few weeks. She is from Australia and I think she is a very brave woman. Her name is Naomi.

She stayed with us for a couple days before hanging out in a “Hiker’s Haven” to wait for some snow to melt.

I got a kick out of Naomi. She named her hiking gear. I think she said her jetboil stove’s named Jenny.

I tried to get her to take my Contigo water bottle—(named or unnamed) as a bunch of her stuff got stolen from her luggage—so that it could journey a littler farther from home. I think it is getting sick of hiking only to Fragrance Lake and back.

It’s not like I’ll be doing the PCT any time soon. I’m lucky if I don’t get winded going to the mailbox or bending down to tie my Keens.
