Getting Back In the Saddle-3

I used to read all the time, but for some reason, my chemo brain is still not wanting to cooperate fully with my eyeballs. In my last post about this subject, I mentioned attempting to read several books: And The Sea Will Tell by Vincent Bugliosi Never finished. The Guestbook by Andrea Hurst Took me […]

Identity Crisis: Cancer-Style

I’ve been having a heck of a time lately figuring out what to do with myself, looks wise. Should I grow my hair out? Should I dye it a different color? I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Maybe I’m having a mid-life crisis on top of going through menopause. I’ll bet Ken is excited […]

Getting Back In The Saddle-2

I mentioned several posts ago that after my cancer diagnosis, I quit playing the organ. Another activity that I seem unable to get back to is reading a book in its entirety. I don’t know what the problem is. I used to read all the time. I know that during chemotherapy, my brain couldn’t hold […]

Paying Medical Bills

I perused the 8-page medical bill that we (still) have from all the chemotherapy I went through last year. Apparently, I have too much time on my hands. Page 1 advised the following: “This is your FINAL NOTICE. Please contact our office immediately to avoid collection activity.” What?! I referred to March’s bill… February’s, January’s, […]

Public Piano-Playing

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve done any serious piano playing (over 2 years… since the diagnosis). I thought I’d just jump right back in and play a complicated 16-page piece (with the organ, bells, and choir)… in public; hope my hands cooperate with my chemo brain.

Simple Joys of Life #2

Today I’m celebrating the fact that I have hair on my head, enough even to go get a haircut. It wasn’t that long ago that my head was as bald as a baby’s butt. Shiver.

Reasonable Insomnia

My insomnia was getting way better until last night. I think my brain knew that my body did not want to go to the chemo center this morning…
