Cancer & Creativity
I don’t know what’s happening to me, but I’ve been typing away on the “happy breast cancer book” for hours on end and then when I want a break, I compose music for a few more. This is, of course, in between teaching piano lessons, making dinner, and cleaning toilets.
For the book: I’m going through some of the Vicodin-induced rambling I wrote back in June when I had the port-a-cath put in. Sometimes I know what I was talking about, and other times, I think I really was nuts.
For the music: I’m switching from my $40 software to my $600 software, composing new material and working on some old stuff.
I’ve never had such a burst of creativity all at once… all I can think of is chemotherapy is over and I’m free!
Ride that wave of creativity! I’m looking forward to hearing some of your results someday!
Abel,
I played one of them (compositions) at the Fine Arts Festival last night… it was a lot of fun.
You compose too, right? Right back at ya – when do we get to hear yours?
