A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

January 19, 2023

That’s Not Something You Hear Every Day #32

My piano-student parent who introduced me to this nougat several years ago brought me some to her daughter’s lesson on January 11. I should have given it back. Or, I guess had some self-control.

The night before my trip to the ER, I joked to Ken, “Hm, I should probably stop eating this stuff. It’s most likely gluing my insides together.”

When the ER nurse asked me what I had eaten prior to my visit, I fessed up, “Well…uh…I think I ate a few too many candies.” Seriously, I end up in the ER with a nougat hangover?

I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, and I try to stay away from sugar and succeed most days, until I don’t.

One thing is for sure: I think my partying days are over. No more month-long birthday celebrating at restaurants/candy-bingeing for me.
