Vacation In The Rain

Today, we are visiting the Tillamook Cheese Company which is a good thing because it is pouring outside. It’s also a good thing because yesterday when I went hiking along the hills near the beach with Ken and Jonathan, I thought I was going to have a heart attack on the spot.

Dr. Hoffman warned that my heart isn’t working properly because of all the chemotherapy I went through. Well, he said it a little differently: “mild global left ventricular dysfunction with estimated EF 45-50%, trace mitral and tricuspid regurgitation….” I’m sure being completely out of shape isn’t helping. Great. Visiting the factory that makes the best cheese in the world and I probably shouldn’t sample it… or the ice cream… or the fudge…

  1. Hey girl! Glad to hear you’re on vacation! Pouring rain huh? Whaddya expect in Oregon? I would try Hawaii or Cali…though probably you’d prefer rain over earthquakes. About that heart thingamajig… I also had trouble with my ticker..last year when we went to Mt Rainier…oh my goodness!!! Here I walk almost every morning and I THOUGHT I was in shape..evidently my heart did not agree. I did make it round the loop though….Don had to wait for me to catch up every 500 feet or so and that gave him a fine opportunity to puff on his pipe. When I would catch up he’d be all rested and ready to soldier on. I treated myself to a well earned ice cream cone at the end. Hang the diet!
