The Journey Project – Phase V
Now that my Journey Project has come to an end, I confess I’m a little bit depressed. It’s been going on for six months and was pretty exciting.
My video is now up and running. I hope my three closest relatives enjoy it.
Today, I also mailed signed copies of my book to Jerry Butler (the gracious lawyer who helped me accomplish this project these past six months for free), Jonathan Cain (the cute songwriter/singer/keyboardist for Journey), and Tim (the lawyer for the band as a whole).
Not only did Jonathan Cain and the rest of the band agree to let me use the song for a year like Jerry had originally told me, they let me use it free of charge for five years.
Now that all the excitement is over, should I ask Journey to do a benefit concert for breast cancer? :)
Yay for you, now if by chance you get that concert booked, I want front row seats!!!
Bobby,
Wouldn’t that be a riot? You’re trying to prevent past history… remember when we went to the open-air Lee Greenwood concert at the Naval Air Base in Oak Harbor? Of course, you remember. You’ve been (rightly) mad at me ever since. :)
I will keep you updated.
I wonder if Jonathan would let me play a second keyboard on stage. That would be fun. I’ve been playing those songs since I was a young whipper-snapper.
Think “Don’t Stop Believin'” would be the one I’d pick.

I was just telling my girls a week or two about that Lee Greenwood concert in Oak Harbor. Good times!!!!!!
Judy,
I remember this man in full Navy uniform standing right in front of the stage belting out “God Bless The USA” and bawling his head off. He kind of got me going.
That is still, hands down, my favorite Lee Greenwood song.
Have your girls ever heard any of his songs?
