A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

December 22, 2009

The Countdown

I visited Uncle Sid and Aunt Alice yesterday and they were asking me about the mastectomy and I answered that it was scheduled for “one month from today.” Then, I started second-guessing myself on the date because it’s been changed so many times. Back at home, I checked and there it was written down in stark black-and-white.

The surgeon told me back in May that it will be a day surgery. What?! I think I should be there a week, eat all the jello and pudding I want, have daily massages, and pretend I’m at a health spa. I mean we’re talking a whole body part being removed from my body.

All I can say is, they better give me good drugs.
