A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

Thanksgiving I – 2012

The nice thing about being married to a Canadian is that our family celebrates Thanksgiving twice a year. I still pinch myself and thank the good Lord that I am alive – with no recurrence of breast cancer.

Besides that, I kinda like turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.

  1. We’re getting thanksgiving twice this year (did our first one in late September–had to beat the Canadians) and I really liked it. I wish I had two every year. You’re a lucky person!

  2. Abel,

Why did you have one in September? Just for fun?

    I am a lucky person… didn’t think I’d make it to Thanksgiving.

Next Thanksgiving, I may be cooking a boneless turkey (even though I don’t think they taste as good). As Bonnie W. says, “It sure is a pain to get rid of that carcass.”
