On Being a New Author
I was poring over the manuscript for a final read-through this afternoon so I can turn it back in to the publisher. And fell asleep. On page seven.
This is not a good sign.
“So, Marie, tell us about your new book coming out. I understand it’s called Cancer Is A Funny Thing, so I’m assuming this is a humorous book.”
“Well, Interviewer, I must confess. It didn’t make me laugh… it didn’t make me cry. It put me to sleep.”
Maybe it’s because the book is so warm and comforting…it certainly can’t be boring!
And has Ken weighed in on the F v. L dilemma of your last post? Just wondering….
Debbie,
Poor Ken… he’s been putting up with a lot. Or a little, depending on which way you want to look at it. I warned the doctor that I didn’t know if I could put up with this side effect… Sometimes, you have to weigh your options carefully: threat of death vs. loss of libido. I know what most guys would say!
Hi, Marie. My daughter said she just talked to you.
I’m enjoying reading your blog.
Mary,
I couldn’t figure out who you were at first. Ah, then it came to me.
I’m going to e-mail you from your website.
Thanks for the kind comment.
I check in on your blog everyday, Marie. It is totally awesome. Wishing all the best luck with the book. Lynn Lamb
Lynn!
I miss all our emails when you edited the other book.
Still want to meet you face-to-face… going to any hockey games?
Take care.
