A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

House-Bound Post-Mastectomy

I’m thinking of going out in public tomorrow and have come to the conclusion that I’m more self-conscious about the amount of hair on my head than the fact that I have a gaping hole where my right boob used to be. Go figure. Hey, a pun. Oh boy, too much Vicodin. I’m laughing at my own pathetic jokes.

My friend tried to talk some sense into me today. “Maria, you’re beautiful and sexy, so get over it and quit wearing those stupid scarves.”

We’ll see if I can even stay awake long enough to go out tomorrow. I’ll worry about whether or not I wear a scarf later.
