Role Reversal

Last week, I picked up Jonathan from school and the second he got in the car, he asked, “Hey, can we go to Mexico Cafe’?”

I immediately began to drool and dream of nachos and the best salsa in the world. “Uh, we, well… um… I just went to the naturopath and we… ” I plunged ahead, “I have to lose 67 pounds. The doctor and I agreed.”

“Then, we’re not going, Mom. You can do it. We are not going.”
