Out of the Mouths of (Sweet) Babes
Adriana handed me some dark-chocolate covered dried cherries and the sweetest note for Valentine’s Day:
“You are a great mommy… Thank you for taking the time to come to my basketball games… Thanks for making sure we went on vacations all the time…”
Oh, look what a grateful daughter I have, I thought, as I read over her praises of me on this Valentine’s Day 2012. I kept reading.
“Thank you for baking pumpkin cream cheese muffins for all my hungry teammates….” Yeah, what monster have I created? The pumpkin cream cheese muffins have expanded to include Creamy Dreamy Fudge, almond bars, and cream puffs. Those players are going to get fat.
“I’m glad you spend so much time on your recipe book…” She has a point there: hour after hour has been spent on that thing over the years.
“…so I know how to make stuff when you die.”
Wh-what?
I’m glad you’ve gifted all your kids with a quirky sense of humor.
And I want the recipe for almond bars. Better yet, I want AJ to make the almond bars for me.
Debbie,
I’ll have Adriana get right on that. I bake for all her friends so now, she can return the favor and start baking for mine.
Sa-weet! Another reason I didn’t give up desserts for Lent!
