Maybe I Like Insomnia After All
I’m turning in my manuscript to the publisher tomorrow, so maybe this insomnia is a godsend. I need all the hours I can get, especially when I discovered that the new rule is “only one space after a period.” After I typed my 60,000-word document, of course.
My fifth grade teacher is turning over in his grave. TWO SPACES AFTER EVERY SENTENCE. NO EXCEPTIONS. He must have said that a million times.
Are you kidding me?? One space after a period?! I finally just mastered the punctuation inside the quotations and now this?! I’m crying here! Good luck on finishing that huge change with search and replace! LOL

Welcome to the world of word-processing, not typing. You don’t have to hit the carriage return anymore, either. (Have you seen that video on YouTube?)
There’s a wonderful thing called Find/Replace on your Word Edit menu. Just type in the “Find” and in the “Replace with” and—voila!
Hope once the manuscript’s mailed off you can get some sleep (or get the vacuuming done…)
Ok, so Blogger didn’t put all the words in my comment. Type “period-space-space” (the symbols, not the words) in Find and “period-space” in Replace with. There. Happy, Blogger?
