Doctor’s Findings Post-Mastectomy
The few things I learned from the doctor yesterday:
1. A mastectomy–rather than a lumpectomy–was the right choice for me due to the spread of cancer they found.
2. Four out of eleven lymph nodes taken showed cancer (after chemotherapy) which means I will be advised to do radiation.
3. The nurse’s scale was way off. I knew it was too good to be true. I weigh exactly the same.
4. Chemotherapy slows down healing so the drains from the surgery will have to stay on longer than planned.
5. Herceptin starts in two hours and I’m sick of doctor’s appointments.
I can only imagine how tired you are of doctor appointments! Be patient, and trust that your health professionals are wise and discerning and will do their best for you.
Re radiation–tell yourself you’ve always known you were hot–now you’ll be REALLY hot!
Praying for continued strength and quick healing (I’m sure the antioxidants in chocolate help)
We are praying for you too. It was good to chat after church for a bit!
Thinking of you Marie, I am sure you are fed up with doctors and appts. Keep your chin up!! Kaaran
