A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

Breast Reconstruction – Take 29

It’s been two weeks since my breast reconstruction surgery. A week ago, my brother-in-law, Michael, came to see me when I was “white as a ghost and not moving from the couch.”

Today, he came with my sister, Brenda, and it was a totally different visit. I was upright, had taken a shower (by myself… hoo-rah), and was able to walk on my own. The next thing I knew, we were flying kites in the back yard, checking out how my greenhouse was getting along, and joking around about what I was going to do with my prosthesis now that I no longer need it:

1. Donate it to a cancer center.
2. Goodwill?!
3. Give it to my friend, Rich.

  1. I’m thinking you leave it random public places, wait until it causes a stir, and then wander up and say “Oh, that’s where I left it!”

Either that, or something involving a catapult.
