A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

January 27, 2012

Coaches Against Cancer

I never knew there was such a thing. Of course, coaches are against cancer. So are players. And mothers and fathers of players.

What I mean is, I didn’t realize there was a fundraiser called “Coaches Against Cancer.”

Adriana’s team picked me to sit on the bench and “assist coach” in two short days. I’m so excited, I can hardly contain myself.

I don’t know much about basketball except that I love it. Yelling, “Take the charge!” and “Box out!” seem to be standard things to yell at games: at least I’ve heard fans in the crowd yell these two commands; I just hope I yell them at the right time in my excitement.

  1. I would say “Go, Skagit!” probably would cover most situations. That, and “Whatsamatter, ref? Ya need glasses?” Although that may result in you being REMOVED from the bench.
