Birthdays

I was at my boys’ basketball game a week ago and Lori, another woman I know that has been battling cancer – two different types – came up to me afterward.

“Happy birthday,” she greeted me. “They mean a lot more now, don’t they?”

Yes, they do. I didn’t think I was going to make it to the next one, but I’ve managed to hit three since the diagnosis. Go me.
