Two days before my first chemotherapy treatment

I have another appointment tomorrow morning with the Red Devil. That is the nickname the nurses give to the drug, Adriamycin, which is part of the chemotherapy regimen I am being given.

The drug is red when it goes in, red when it comes out, and truly is “the devil.” I could think of a hundred different places I’d rather be tomorrow, but such is life.

  1. Marie,

I LOVE the webpage and am thinking of you today. I remember a little bit about a red drug I used to mix when I was a chemotherapy technician. It scared me and I wasn’t even the one taking it. Stay strong sister! Maybe we should look into the future at our next writer’s conference? How about the Maui Writer’s Conference? I think you deserve it!

  2. We’re reading this on Thursday so you are probably in the midst of the “red devil.” We pray for you and wish you all the best. Keep smiling.

  3. Nice website, Marie! Kudos to your webmaster. I’ve added your rss feed to my reader, so I’ll always be up to date with the latest. You are in our prayers every night. Say hi to Ken and your kids for me.

  4. What a beautiful website, Maria. Great you created this for yourself. It shows you take yourself more and more seriously as a writer. You can be so proud of yourself! And that also makes me happy, here at the other side of the ocean. Writing-sister-in-spirit. Hope the Red Devil was kind to you today. And will be in the coming days.
Lots of love, also for Ken and the Kids, Renee

  5. Shoot! I wanted to be the first to comment on here ;) I hope you’re still doing as well as you were when I saw you earlier today… We are thinking of you and praying for you too, and it’s good to see you keeping up your sense of humor through all this.

  6. Hi Marie,
I hope you are okay this evening and not having the sickness problems you had 3 weeks ago with the first treatment. You are in my thoughts and prayers – you are an inspiration. Oh no! I forgot to bring over your Kale on Sunday – today isn’t the day to do it….I’ll drop by soon.

  7. Hey momma. I’m really proud of you and now you look so proffesional. Way to go chasing your dreams =)

  8. Well, everyone, it looks like I was too sick back then to respond to any of these comments.

Thank the Lord that I’m feeling much better now!!!

Thanks for all the sweet comments.

    -Marie
