A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

October 17, 2010

Breast Cancer Awareness #2

Last year I made a list of things that made me aware of my cancer in honor of “Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” For this October, I made a new list:

1. I have Femara-induced joint pain every day. Wonder if I can get a prescription for a hot tub?

2. I have a physical therapist (for issues with my chest/arm) and pretend she’s my own personal trainer.

3. Just as I suspected, I can no longer eat mint Mentos as I associate them with “chemo-nausea.”

4. My chemo-brain seems permanent.

5. My decision-making capacity is getting more diminished by the day (Lupron or no Lupron? Sugar or no sugar? Femara or libido? Keep ovaries or remove them? Be paranoid about reoccurrence or stay positive?).

Until next October…
