That’s Not Something You Do Every Day #9

Fail #1: Tried to tour the Grand Ole Opry this morning, but we couldn’t get in.

Fail #2: Tried to find The Rutledge, where one of my favorite songs “Dream” was recorded by Kenny Loggins and his latest band Blue Sky Riders. We ended up at a dinky café with the same name. Frustrated, I got a hold of a really nice man at a third Rutledge and found out the original Rutledge where “Dream” was recorded has since gone out of business.

Success: Ate dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant (a first for us) with two really nice women—friends of our daughter—that we had just met. We hugged (twice), we laughed and laughed, and they invited me to stay with them if I do come back this way to do some songwriting.

That brings the “new friends in Nashville” total to five. Good times.
