Speaking of Birthdays…

 

My birthday was on January 9.

You know, it might just be me, but it seems like the more birthdays I celebrate since my wretched breast cancer diagnosis in April of 2009, the more partying I do. Our family has always celebrated with a visit to a restaurant, but, this year, I partied for almost two weeks straight:

01/07/2014: The family treated me to Red Robin.

01/09/2014: Ken drove me to Fred Meyer for some Haagen-Dazs Rocky Road ice cream. What can I say? I haven’t had it for so long.

01/10/2014: My friend, Tami, took me to Mexico Cafe and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Afterward, she gave me this tripod. I plan on traveling the globe now like Sean Penn’s character in the movie.

01/15/2014: My friend, Laurie, and I went to the movie, Saving Mr. Banks and ate dinner at Denny’s for $4.33.

01/18/2014: Ken took me on a hot date to Red Robin.

As I recounted on Facebook a few days later, “I am one spoiled brat.”
