Letter #1 To My Benefactor
I still don’t know who you are, but wanted to let you know that I feel like Pip in Great Expectations. I wore my Keens for the first time this week on a long hike through the woods with Adriana and Ken.
I plan on wearing those hiking boots out and making you proud.
Sincerely & gratefully yours,
Marie
Where did you go? Also–high five to Adriana for wearing big dangly earrings in the woods. Way to not follow the crowd!
Abel,
The Padilla Bay trail. It sure is pretty back there.
Have you ever been there?
I’ve done the shore trail, but not the upland trail, which I’m guessing is where you were, since the shore trail doesn’t have trees like that!
Hey, Marie, are you watching Great Expectations on PBS? I am taping it. Okay, DVRing it, whatever. Since I was born in the, uh, well, before the ’80’s, “taping” still comes to mind. I saw a smidgin’ of the show the other day and couldn’t remember if I ever read the book. Did you? Well, I got enough of the smidgin’ to understand how neat it was to get to wear the boots WITHOUT the guilt- and to know someone loves you. We love you too, but we didn’t send the cash. Just throwing that out there. I do still promote your book all over the place, if that counts. Hugs!-Bon
Bonnie,
Are you talking the modern adaptation of Great Expectations? I’ve seen it.
I have not read the book, however. Keep meaning to. I even have a nice leatherbound copy here.
I’ve had a very hard time reading since the chemotherapy. My concentration is shot. Hope it comes back, because I used to read like crazy.
Thanks. I have my own cheerful little walking commercial. You go, girl.
Abel,
Yes, it is the upland trail. I have not done the shore trail. Is it nice?
