A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

It’s Hard To Be A Woman #5

I went in to Washington Federal to do a little end-of-the-year banking. I got to talking to the girl that was handling my deposit—we’ll call her Sally.

“I make my own laundry detergent all the time,” Sally told me. “You can make it for pennies a load.”

This chick is nuts. Why would anyone in their right mind make their own laundry soap in this day and age when you can go to Costco and buy a honking big container of Tide? Doesn’t she have enough to do? Kids, husband, work…

Of course, I went right out and purchased all the ingredients she had instructed me to buy. However, I have not made it yet.

I guess I could complain about being a woman, but thank heavens I’m a woman in 2012 and not the 1800s. Not only would I be making my own soap, quilting out of necessity, and sewing clothes for every member of the family, I’d also be chopping the heads off my chickens just to get dinner on the table. Blech.
