A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

I Think My Liver’s Mad At Me

Sick LiverI went to my Taxol chemotherapy treatment this morning, complained once again about the rash, had blood drawn, got pre-meds dripped into my veins, prepared for the Taxol infusion, and then heard loud and clear from my liver.

Apparently, the liver becomes toxic if you feed it too many poisons. On a scale of 1-50, mine was 326 and my chemotherapy treatment was cancelled.

Not believing the words were coming out of my mouth, I begged the nurse, “Please give me the Taxol anyway.” I didn’t want to drag this out for an extra week. When she mentioned the possibility of permanent damage, I thought I better zip it. I hope my liver didn’t hear how unconcerned I was for its safety.

  1. Vern,
What do you think of Chemo-Canasta now? Do you like it?
At least the day wasn’t a total waste!
