Dear Benefactor,

I’ve been so inept at keeping you up to date about where I’ve been hiking and how often. It’s not because I’ve been sitting around watching Netflix all day and leaving my Keens in the closet.

Oh no, I’ve been a busy little bee.

Ever since our daughter, Adriana, came home from Australia for a visit, it’s been nonstop, ever-loving, boisterous fun.

I think this is a good thing, because my last couple of letters to you were a bit depressing and full of doom and gloom.

Adriana was only home for one day (yes, one) and we were off to Depot Bay, Oregon for a five-day relaxing vacation. Even though we were there to relax, I took my Keens along because they come with me on every single vacation.

We tried to hike down to the beach (pictured in the background here), but we ended up running back up the hill within minutes because it started pouring and I mean, pouring. I love Oregon, but it always seems wet and cold there.

I will try to be more diligent about my hiking adventures.

Sincerely,

Marie
