Four Years & Counting
Because of my hyped up state, my four-year anniversary totally snuck up on me. Not only did it sneak up on me, I was way more emotional about it this year. Maybe my impending menopause has something to do with that.
I still can’t believe that it’s been four years since I sat in the doctor’s office to hear the words, “You have advanced breast cancer.”
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I hopped in the car with one of my best friends, Susie. We went to Denny’s up in Bellingham for scrambled eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns (boy, I live dangerously). After that, we went to Ross where I bought six pale blue scrubber washcloths for $2.99 that I’ll be able to use in my new kitchen (still living dangerously). Finally, we ended up at Hi Hoe Nursery in Lynden where I fell in love with a little redbud tree. I planned on planting it in my yard and every time I looked at it, I would remember this momentous day–the day where I’m still alive and living life to the fullest.
The end of the day was made complete by a trip to Fred Meyer’s where I bought only one item: you guessed it… a Häagen-Dazs Rocky Road ice cream.
I truly appreciate this post.Much thanks again. Want more.
