Life Survivorship-9
It has been over four years since I last posted to this “life survivorship” category. I guess I was too busy living my life.
In several other posts in this same category (or the original post that sparked this whole new subject I cover in my cancer blog), I refer to songs by well-known singers and songwriters: one has been on American Idol, one of the lead vocalists in another band had a movie made about his life and how his famous song came to be…
Then, there’s little old me. I wrote a song. To deal with a tricky part of my past. When I first made arrangements to go to Nashville to have this song recorded, the producer mentioned that he wanted to do a video to further “tell the story.” I thought it was going to be a music video. Focus on the vocalist, not the songwriter and pianist (which is little old me).
He said, “Nope. I’m going to hire an actress to play you at a younger age and you are going to play…you.”
Big fat gulp. I’m not an actress. Please don’t make me.
This picture was taken last night after five hours of filming in Studio G at Soundcheck Nashville with this awesome group of people.
It was way out of the box for me. Waaaaay out of the box. But, I survived it…just like I’m going to continue to survive this thing called life.
