Counting Family Birthdays

I don’t think it was really until this year that I put two and two together: Jonathan’s birthday kind of gets lost in the shuffle of my breast cancer diagnosis and every resulting anniversary since.

This year, our family celebrated Jonathan’s seventeenth birthday by going to Mexico Café for our standard chips, the best salsa in the world, and smothered burritos.

Not only am I thankful to still be here four years later, I’m also thankful that I have a wonderful family to celebrate my life with.
