Treat The Whole Person
Yesterday, in meeting with my naturopath, Haley, it was time for my monthly weigh-in. I made sure to go to the bathroom first, removed my shoes, took my coat off, and sure enough, I had still gained seven pounds. I knew I had partied a little too hard on our trip to the Oregon coast and all that chocolate was now biting me in the butt.
“Hey, I could always take my new boob out… that’s got to be good for four pounds, don’t you think?” I commented.
“Oh, you got it?” Haley asked excitedly. She must feel extremely comfortable with me because she hopped right out of her chair and placed both hands on either side of my right breast and said, “Cool.” Then again, I must feel comfortable, too, because I let her and didn’t think anything of it… until, I looked out the window, that is.
You have to realize, her office is surrounded by high-rise buildings. I quipped, “Hey, Haley, you do know that if anyone over there was looking in, they’d get an eyeful right now.”
It’s good to feel comfortable with one’s naturopath. You know what they say: “Treat the whole person.” Some just take that a little more seriously than others.

I actually thought about you today, too, thinking, “I wonder when I have to get another heart test done and which nurse/technician that I’ll end up with?”… and then, there you are.
