A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

Letter #13 To My Benefactor

01_03_2014_cancer_funny_recurrence_chemotherapy_hikingDear Benefactor,

Well, it’s been a while. The last time I wrote was September 13, 2013.

You know the boots you bought me? Well, they’ve been sitting in my closet for the past few months, only to be taken out for soccer games when I was freezing my tail off.

You see, back in November, I got this hare-brained idea that I need to totally change the way I eat because I don’t want to have my breast cancer return. As part of the plan, I figured I better get my thyroid to behave and it got me into major trouble.

I wanted to add hiking into the mix, because I thought that would help me in my quest to prevent recurrence, but because of my aforementioned thyroid problem, I was unable to drive because of my hyperactivity, for lack of a better word.

I promise I will start hiking soon. That must be good for breast cancer prevention, don’t you think? As long as I don’t get mauled by a cougar or eaten by a bear first.

Sincerely,

Marie
