A Humorous Look at the Bright Side of Cancer... and There Is One

May 4, 2020

That’s Not Something You Think Every Day #9

Back in February, I hurt my left arm/shoulder playing volleyball. Because of COVID-19, I was unable to do anything about it until this month:

Nurse: “We’ve scheduled your MRI for May 13.”
Me: “Sweet.”
Nurse: “I have a few screening questions.”
Me: “Okay.”
Nurse: “Have you been diagnosed with COVID?”
Me: “No.”
Nurse: “Do you have a cough or fever?”
Me: “No.”
Nurse: “Have you had heart, brain, or ear surgery?”
Me: “No.”
Nurse: “Are you claustrophobic?”
Me: “Very.”
Nurse: “Have you ever had metal shavings in your eye?”
Me: “No.”
Nurse: “Blah, blah, blah….”
Me: *tuning her out as I begin to hyperventilate*
Nurse: “Blah, blah, blah….”
Me: “Can we get back to that claustrophobia bit? What can we do about that? Can you knock me out????”
