Dear Fran,

It’s been a really long time.

How have you been? Me? I’ve been a busy, busy bee.

I played piano for a Christmas concert last weekend. It was loads of fun. Halfway through Saturday’s performance, as I sat listening to the wonderful music of the other musicians, I couldn’t help but think of how guilty I feel about still being alive. When my family first started attending this church, the minister would pray for myself and three other people with cancer. One by one, those poor other people died. I am still here.

I guess God still has plans for me. I hope those plans include meeting you one day.
