Dear Fran Drescher #10
Dear Fran,
I can’t believe that the last time I wrote you was on June 18. What kind of friend am I? Then again, I wouldn’t want to mention the fact that I’m writing myself… uh, I mean, I haven’t heard from you. Ever.
The reason I haven’t written you is because I’ve been furiously trying to get our house back in order since the remodel. As I told another friend of mine, I’m “just now crawling out of the rubble.”
Oh, good news: I found myself a new sugar sponsor. Not sure if I’ve told you about my sugar addiction or not. I’ve been known to eat eight Nestle’ Drumsticks in two days. Yes, you read that correctly. I hope my addiction doesn’t affect our friendship.
What was I saying? Oh yes, I think I found myself a new sugar sponsor. I’ve never met her in person, or even know where she lives, but she seems like a nice lady. Very encouraging.
Her name is Kim. She sent me an email through my Cancer Is A Funny Thing Facebook page earlier this week. She’s had breast cancer herself and wanted to let me know that she read through most of my blog. Apparently, she has a lot of time on her hands because my blog goes on forever. Six years I’ve been spending on this thing.
Anyway, we’ve been emailing back and forth all week and in her last email, she wrote that she “hasn’t eaten sugar since 2013.” W-what? I’m proud of myself for not eating sugar since Tuesday.
How do other people have so much self-control? Do you struggle with sugar issues? Why am I such a weenie?
Well, I will try to write a little faster next time. In between my uplifting talks with my new sponsor, of course. Wish me luck.
Best friends always,
Marie
