Me, High-Risk?

I’ve been told by two separate doctors in the past few weeks that I’m considered “high-risk” in regard to cancer recurrence. High-strung, maybe… In the meantime, I’m going to jet off to my writing conference (okay, I’m taking the car). Hope I stay awake long enough to learn something.

How Many Doctors Is Enough?

When I went Tuesday to have blood drawn and the port flushed for the first time since my last Herceptin treatment in December, I thought I’d be in and out in ten minutes. Oh no; that would have been too easy. Our insurance plan recently got switched to a different carrier. And so the fun […]

Attending a Christmas concert Tuesday night. 5. Holding my book launch Wednesday night. 6. Jamming with the music band on Thursday […]

On Being An "Old Hag"

I had another appointment with the oncologist this morning in which I promptly complained about my 2-month (since taking Femara) libido problem. He asked why I wasn’t doing Lupron yet. I told him, “My brain is incapable of making any more decisions.” I asked him to remind me what Lupron would do to my body. […]
